1st Annual Occasions Jamboree

The release of the Occasions catalog will be here before we know it and we, the Stampin’ Pals (Cathy Miller and Christine Bertram) are excited to share a new event for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators planned by Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, which we coined the Occasions Jamboree. We will showcase all the products in the new Occasions catalog along with new Sale-A-Bration items!  The catalog will be available to demonstrators who are attending OnStage on November 14th and 15th and will be available to all demonstrators the beginning of December.  The full agenda will follow as the event gets closer, but to start the excitement, we’d like to announce that we have two presenters in the lineup already. The most amazing and fabulous Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around…..drum roll please…Kelly Acheson and Dena Rekow. They want to know what YOU need help with in growing your business.  We will compile all the answers and try to cover as much as possible.  In addition, we will be lining up one or two demonstrators to demonstrate for the group to show you some of the fun new products. This event will appeal to every SU demo….from the discount shopper who just wants to stamp all the way to someone who works it as a business and everyone in between.

Enjoy a day and a half of stamping and business inspiration including:

•      Gorgeous displays featuring all the product suites from the Occasions Catalog

•      Make & takes including 10 – 12 cards

•      Business Building Project

•      Presentations from some of the country's top demonstrators

•      Demonstrations from some pretty spectacular demonstrators

•      Games & Give-Aways

•      Door Prizes

•      Prize Patrol

•      Raffle Drawings (bring some cash to get in on having the chance to win some awesome prizes from the Occasions Catalog)

Please Bring:  Your own paper snips, bone folder, and adhesives as well as a camera to take pictures. Please, please, please mark your tools with your initials so that if they are left at a table we can get them back to you.

Room Reservations: We have a block of rooms reserved at the hotel for a reduced rate of $95 for a king bed and $105 for 2 queen beds for both Saturday and Friday nights.  Please contact the hotel directly to book your rooms and tell them it is with the Occasions Jamboree 2020 group to get the discounted rate. Rooms are limited for both nights, but more could be added if we know earlier rather than later that more need to be added….so do not procrastinate. Just know that as time passes the rate will go up. You can book your room immediately if you think you want to attend, and it will be held with your credit card and not charged until you check out.

Facebook Group:  The Facebook group is called Occasions Jamboree 2020 and you will be invited to join the group after registration is complete. We will house pictures of all the swap cards and videos of the presentations in this group as well as pictures of all of you throughout the event.

 Optional Organized Swaps

Are you interested in getting even more samples using the new products from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs?  Then you’ll want to sign up for one, some, or all the optional swaps.

You can sign up for as many of the different categories of swaps as you desire.  We’ll advise the number of swaps you’ll need to make per category by December 21st.  You’ll design and make that many swaps plus 2 (one each for Cathy and me). Each swap requires a different design. Two cards from each swap will need to be turned in prior to the event starting Saturday morning.

All swap entrees will be entered in our swap contest.  There will be a winner from each category, which is selected by your peers.

All projects must feature new products from the Occasions or Sale-a-bration Catalogs, depending on what you sign up for.  Everything including cardstock must be Stampin’ Up! product - nothing can be retired, from the Clearance Rack, or from Paper Pumpkin kits. Any cards submitted not following the guidelines will be returned…so sorry if this needs to happen.

Swap Sign Up Deadline:  December 20th – Please email chrismbertram@msn.com to specify which swaps you’ll be participating in after you register and before the deadline.

 1.   Candy Treat Swap: Your treat swap must use a new Occasions stamp set and/or die, at least 1 new embellishment or new Designer Series paper, and must contain the candy treat.  Please attach your name to the treat in a way that can be easily removed without ruining the treat (like a Post-it Note).

 2.   Holiday Card Swap: Your full card (not just card front) must have at least 2 layers, use a new Occasions stamp set, 1 new embellishment, and focus on an upcoming Holiday (Valentine’s Day, St. Patty’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc).  The cards must be placed in clear SU envelopes (item# 102619) with your name not stamped on it (use a business card or Post-it Note).

 3.   Anything Else Card Swap: Your full card (not just card front) must have at least 2 layers, use a new Occasions stamp set, 1 new embellishment, and not focus on a Holiday theme.  The cards must be placed in clear SU envelopes (item# 102619) with your name not stamped on it (use a business card or Post-it Note).

 4.   Sale-A-Bration Card Swap: Your full card (not just card front) must have at least 2 layers, use a new Sale-A-Bration stamp set, and 1 new embellishment.  The cards must be placed in clear SU envelopes (item# 102619) with your name not stamped on it (use a business card or Post-it Note).

 5.   Case the Occasions Catalog Swap: Your full card (not just card front) must have at least 2 layers, that CASE’s any full card in the Occasions Catalog, and 1 new embellishment.  The cards must be placed in clear SU envelopes (item# 102619) with your name not stamped on it (use a business card or Post-it Note).

 6.   Shoe-Box Swap: It will be organized for Saturday night for those that just want MORE stamping and bonding time. It is tentatively set for 7:30 pm to 11 pm.  The groups will be set to include 10 people to allow for you to make 9 cards in the allotted time.  You will design a full card (not just card front) which must have at least 2 layers, use any new stamp set from either the Occasions or SAB catalogs, and 1 new embellishment. Three cards must be placed in SU clear envelopes (item# 102619) with your name not stamped on it (use a business card or Post-it Note). One card will be for display at the swap which you will receive back and 2 will be for Cathy and me.  You will need to prep 9 kits for the others in your group to make Saturday night and will go home with 10 cards including one of yours. You will need to bring all supplies (inks, stamps, paper, dies, punches, embossing folders, embellishments, etc) so those in your group can make your card. There will be Big Shots available for use. Please be mindful that everyone will need to make 9 cards within the allotted time frame so any diecutting and embossing prep work would be beneficial.
